Video games were born on computers, well before arcades or consoles were created. Way back in the 1950’s, computer engineers were experimenting with mainframes and mini-computer coding to create simple games for fun. Fast forward to now, and PC gaming is huge – particularly thanks to digital distribution channels like Steam and GOG.com. Third only to console and mobile gaming, PC gaming is a $100 billion dollar industry – and that’s not even including the hardware! PC gamers flock to this platform because of it’s high processing power, and openness to developers and modding which allows fresh, new additions to already loved games.
