Woo-hoo! The Super Mario series began in 1986, and since then it’s become so huge that polls have shown that Mario is more recognisable to people in Japan than Mickey Mouse. Mario is gaming’s most famous hero, but he’s also a mysterious figure, in some ways – a (possibly retired) plumber who can jump several times his own height, who dons magic suits to gain new powers and who has rescued the same princess from the evil King Bowser many times. In 2D and 3D, across sports games, kart racers, party titles, puzzles, and many other genres, Mario is a promise that the game will be incredible fun.
