Red Dead Redemption
The Red Dead series began with a whimper – 2004’s Red Dead Revolver landed on the PS2 to little fanfare. But across the next two games, Rockstar created the definitive old west series, games equally comfortable with letting you tie innocent people to railroad tracks as they are with examining the human condition through the stoic-but-desperate men who serve as each game’s protagonist. The first game is an incredible realisation of the old west as we’ve seen it in films, while the sequel aims for a greater sense of realism. Both are incredible, with wonderful soundtracks and stunning open-worlds.
