The Total War series started out with historical battles, and now encompasses just about every kind of war – fictional fantasy conflicts, historical mythological sagas, and, yes, numerous real conflicts. At this point, the RTS juggernaut has something for everyone, whether they want to command samurai troops in the Shogun series, revisit the Trojan wars, or take on Napoleon. The games remain extremely good, too, over a dozen entries in.
