The Super Famicom was the Japanese version of the Super Nintendo and their games benefited from faster and smoother gameplay. The Famicom also featured distinctly different box art where the cartridges came in portrait-shaped packaging, rather than the landscape boxes sold in Australia, Europe and North America.
Super Famicom: The Box Art Collection is a compilation book of the Japanese box art. Interestingly, the actual pictures of the box art are life-sized so that they look just as they would if you owned them for yourself. Another nice touch is that the actual artwork is explained from a compositional point of view so you have context and understanding of their designs.
The book features approximately 250 games, with many rare examples, some of which have never before been documented in print. Very handy for those interested in scouting hidden (and potentially valuable) gems for their collections.
