Mario Bros. was the precursor to Super Mario Bros., the game which launched the lovable plumber to super stardom. It was designed as a platform game and published by Nintendo for the arcades in 1983.
In this game, Mario worked side by side with his brother Luigi to eliminate a variety of creatures (turtles, crabs and flies) that popped out of sewer pipes. It was designed by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and Gunpei Yokoi (who went on to design the Game Boy) who were also the lead developers for Donkey Kong.
Today, it is considered one of the more memorable arcade games and for collectors, the original arcade machines have become a bit of a rarity.
This art piece is a 3D diorama depiction of the action screen shot from the arcade classic framed inside a 8 x 8 inch solid wood frame.
The art is printed on high grade glossy card stock many times over, and then painstakingly precision hand cut and layered many times to create the eye popping 3D effect. Perfect for hanging or displaying on a shelf, and comes complete with hanger and stand.
Due to the handmade nature of this product, the artwork may vary slightly from piece to piece.
